An opportunity to bring the Family Unit together for a short moment and which will have a lasting
memento of that day.
Fairs and Festivals are a very important Social Network for a community to be brought together for a Special Event. As such the community looks forward to such an Event, such as the Cowapalooza and July 1st Celebration of Canada Day in Woodstock, Ontario, which are free events and can be attended by anyone.Because the events are free, the majority of the family unit will attend, be it grandparents, parents, teens and pre-teens. There is normally something for everyone at such an event. Even if the event has a charge, it is still a family day event for everyone.
This is a perfect place for Vendors to show and sell their product to persons of all ages. In the case of Buttons by Design, we offer the opportunity for pre-teens and teens to show off their artistic skills by designing a pinback button for a very low price; There are various degrees of complexity for the coloring of such works of art from simple for the very young to complexity to the older teens; It also gives them an opportunity to design a completely new button which is unique to them only. Even as young as 18 months have scribbled on a button and a parent has admired the works of art with love and pride and wear it with same. It is also a memento of their childhood which can go into a memory box to be taken out years later to show that same child, possibly now a teen, or even married with children, their artistic talents so long ago.
Buttons are keepsakes, especially ones personally made and designed of a day enjoyed as a family unit.
To provide such keepsakes, Buttons by Design have over 400 coloring cartoons/ideas for children of all ages. They provide everything and anything to create such a masterpiece for a child or teen to make, from providing the coloring pencils, crayons, felt tip markers, paper, even stickers for those not artistically wanting to put pen to paper. Then the machinery to make the precious keepsake button. More often than not, the children end up making more than one, as loving parents and grandparents want a keepsake as well of their child or grandchilds talents. Many will end up wearing more than on pinback button, if there are more than one child - which there is - in the family unit. It is also a way of bringing siblings and parents together as they help the younger ones with their creation. As they stand around as the button is finally created and see the finished product, one hears the sound of approval from everyone, and the arguing as to who will wear it with pride. Grandparents usually have that honor if out with the family unit that day, followed by a proud parent.
For those not artistically minded or too young, Buttons by Design also provide the opportunity for children and adults to have their photo taken and put on a button, with their name, Name of Event and date. Again this is a popular keepsake for everyone; to keep the family unit happy, we offer a deal of 3 for a small price to enable both grandparents and parent have a keepsake of a photo on a button.
At the Dorchester Rodeo,2009, we took photos of the children on pony rides and these were put on a button, again with the event and date on it, plus the child's name. Another keepsake for the memory box. Our stint at the Dorchester Rodeo has brought us offers to appear at other Fairs and Festivals to offer the same. August 13-16th, 2009, we will be at the Tillsonburg Fair where both Ponies and Camels will be available for children to have a photo taken and put on a button, plus a petting zoo will be available and perhaps dependant upon the animal, understand they may be exotic ones, we may be able to do the same for this.
Not only do we provide the creative side of buttons, but have a huge display of buttons pre-made or could be made up within seconds. With over 4000 buttons, we are able to accommodate the majority of peoples personal likes, from animals to quotes and sayings. If you have a Quotation or something to say, we can make it for you - want to ask that Special Girl to marry you, then wearing a button with " WILL YOU MARRY ME" may be the trick, just remember to put her name and yours on it, otherwise you may be fighting off those who will want to immediately say Yes, and it may be the wrong girl. Of course, it works the other way, for any young woman wanting to get her boyfriend to propose !

PLEASE NOTE FOR FESTIVALS/FAIR/SPECIAL EVENTS: that we only attend if invited, and are either paid to do so, and/or given the location to showcase our buttons free of charge.We do suggest that you consider the option of finding someone to financially Sponsor our venture and we would be more than willing to advertise them during the event. We need an area that will allow a tent 20' x 10' and a Conversion Van, plus hydro.Also if available a couple of picnic tables (or equivalent) for the children to sit at, and if available a couple of volunteers (teenagers/students are perfect for this and appeals to Art Students/Graphic Artists). Due to the low price of our product it is not feasible for us to attend as paying Vendors. We offer a Service which is unique and not available anywhere else. The coloring buttons are the design of Anita of Buttons by Design and the whole concept of this service was designed by her.

ALLERGY BUTTONS - such as allergies to peanuts, blood disoders, allergies to pencillin etc, we have them available. Just let us know what you would like to see on a button to protect yourself or your child when they are attending an event that you are not around them all the time to protect them in case of fainting, etc. A large button immediately notifies anyone of their problem and also notifies medical personnel of any problems.
